We’re going to be posting a walk-through for installing Mephisto on our hosting servers. We’re wondering if anybody has any good/bad stories with this.

We’re also going to make sure that the tzinfo gem is installed on all of our servers, which is the one thing that we’ve been asked a few times.

If you’re hosting Mephisto on our servers, let us know how the install worked out and if you’ve noticed any issues with it running.

Hey, just a suggestion, but you should pre-emptively load the image_science gem if possible. It’ll soon be the default image processor for mephisto, and seems to be a lot easier on the memory in my tests. Uploading 4 images with RMagick jumped the memory up to 90MB (which was promptly garbage collected to 40MB or so). Using ImageScience kept the memory at a steady 40MB.
