An admin is on the way to the colo to fix it

The following improvements were made to positron.planetargon.com on April 3 2007.

• Physical memory changed. Some of the memory was replaced. Since then the server hasn’t used more than a megabyte of virtual memory.

• Virtual memory increased. The swap space on the server was increased from 2 gigabytes to 6. This should make the server run slow for a long time rather than hang if memory usage gets out of control.

• Remote reset capability installed. The capability to reset the server even if the OS is hung has been installed such that PLANET ARGON sysadmins can restart the server without going to the server room. This should help to minimize downtime if the other two improvements are not able to prevent the need for another reboot.
